Charitable Donations Policy
Directions Technology encourages and supports projects and activities which strengthen the communities in which our clients and employees live and work, improves the environment in which Directions Technology does business and enhances the company's opportunities to prosper and grow.
What is a Donation?
A donation is defined as a gift or contribution, as to a cause, without seeking any benefits in exchange.
Donations differ from sponsorships in that they do not deliver business benefits or provide any real return benefit to the funding organisation, Directions Technology.
For the purpose of this policy a "non-profit community organisation" is defined as any non-profit group, agency or service whose primary aims are to improve the quality of life to sections of the community or provide targeted welfare or other support.
Our Approach to Donations
Directions Technology will focus on initiatives in the following areas:
Civic and Community Programs - organisations and activities that meet the local community's basic needs. By providing significant support to social service initiatives, Directions Technology is helping to improve the way people live, work and learn in the local areas.
Sustainable Development and Environmental Conservation - Directions Technology believes it is important to support groups that are looking to address environmental problems, are currently providing solutions to problems or are examining ways in which to prevent them in the future.
Guidelines
Donations will be based on activities that directly impact on Directions Technology's clients and employees in Australia.
Directions Technology will not fund or support:
- Organisations that discriminate on the basis of race, colour, creed, gender or national origin
- Individuals
- Organisations or programs designed to influence legislation or elect candidates to public office
- Religious organisations
- Organisations outside of Australia
- Organisations not registered as a charity or "not-for-profit" entity

When preparing your submission, please note that Directions Technology will only support initiatives that provide benefits to the local communities and that are aligned to the Company's mission, vision and values.
Directions Technology's donation portfolio is developed in accordance with the budget year, commencing July 1. It will assist if your submission is typed.
What Happens Now?
A minimum of two weeks is required to conduct a preliminary evaluation of your submission. If this preliminary evaluation shows there are sufficient merit for Directions Technology to investigate this opportunity further, another five weeks will be required before a decision can be made.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the donations application process.
